Student Senators Program
Sponsored by the Fletcher Middle School PTSA

Student Council offices: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. In addition, each grade level will elect their own three representatives – one for each of our three school groups: PTSA, School Advisory Council and Student Council.

The Student Senators meetings will be on early release Wednesdays at 8:30 AM in the Cafeteria. Student Senator enrollment forms will be accepted until September 30, 2011.

What do you have to do to sign up?
Bring this form home to your parents or adult guardians and ask them to read it carefully. Our official meetings will be held before the school day begins on early release Wednesdays, but some of the activities may not, so your parents will need to give you permission to stay after school, come early to school, or even come in on Saturday to participate in Student Senators. Please note that you must be an active member of this group to earn the privilege of missing class for events. You will receive advance notice of any activities during “out of school” time, but it will be your responsibility to make sure that you tell your parents ahead of time.  Student Senators will be expected to do the following:

  1. Attend Student Senator meetings throughout the school year.
  2. Participate in chosen community service projects. Please note that this may involve some time outside of school -- either before or after school or on weekends. Supervision during these events will be provided by volunteers either from the PTSA or by teachers volunteering their time outside of school hours. Parents are asked to pick up their children promptly at the designated time.
  3. If a student is interested in joining but misses the first meeting due to an excused absence from school – he or she may still be eligible to participate. Contact Sheri Nicholson.
